The increased need for electronic data to be interchanged between suppliers, contractors, subcontractors and end-users of a wide ranging variety of products has led to the development of a number of specifications intended to standardise all interchange data, as thoroughly as possible.

The Message Handler has been especially designed to minimise the required efforts of an Application when implementing an EDI standard. The software contains a database with a complete data dictionary of the relevant standards. In addition to the standard EDIFACT, ASD S2000M and ATA SPEC 2000 Messages, user defined messages can be stored.

To minimise the implementation effort of EDI standards in Applications, the main part of the relevant processing is centralised in the Message Handler.
